How is the data captured by the Modul'Ear processed?

The Modul'Ear is a data logger that allows you to do acoustic and vibration monitoring of your environment. The first part of this series, which you can find here, was devoted to data acquisition.

In this article, we will see what data processing is applied to provide you with legible and understandable information.

How is data sent from the sensor to the server?

The Modul'Ear Is a connected sensor which allows data to be automatically sent back in real time. The user can connect to the sensor via the Internet and therefore control the sensor remotely. Parameter changes can thus be made even after deploying the sensor without the need to travel to site.

The sensor can store a certain amount of raw data (digital audio files) thanks to its system of internal storage. At the same time, a set ofacoustic or vibratory indicators is calculated and reported on a server with a real-time visualization.

Once reported, these indicators are a valuable source of information to analyze what is happening around the sensor.

How is the data analyzed?

Depending on the use case, several scenarios are possible. The indicators reported, coupled with a parameterized alert system, can allow the customer to follow in a standalone the sensor environment, for example for Monitoring of noise pollution.

For more complex use cases, Wavely has developed software tools that allow the analysis of large quantities of data. These allowidentify the indicators the most relevant to respond to a problem, or to recognize the characteristic sound signature of certain events based on models of Machine learning.

And a word about our experts: how do they process data?

Faced with the mass of data that can be collected, our analysts have various signal processing and analysis tools at their disposal to process a large amount of data in a reasonable amount of time. Data-science methods make it possible to refine analyses, solve the problem and develop artificial intelligence models.

Our analysts intervene to assist you in choosing the configuration of the sensor, in the analysis of raw data to allow the selection of relevant indicators, and to assist you in understanding the data reported.

Wavely is a company specialized in the recognition of sounds, it is made up of experts in the field. If you have questions, or needs in terms of acoustic and vibration sensors, contact us without further delay we would be delighted to discuss with you:
